When we understand our stance as a result of Jesus’ death and resurrection, we’ll live life in confidence and perpetual victory. Many of us are defeated on different fronts because of our lack of knowledge  Hosea 4:6 The scriptures in Romans 5:17 say ”Since by the one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive the overflow of grace and the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ” In other words, If because of the sin of one man (Adam) sickness, fear, depression, cancer, loss, disappointment, addiction, ruled, overcame and conquered us, how much more shall we, through Jesus reign, rule and triumph in this life?   In Christ, we triumph not because all the problems and challenges suddenly vanish, we triumph because we now have 24/7 access to an overflow ( an abundance, a spilling over) of grace and favour. We triumph amidst disappointment, oppositions, loss, and betrayal as God gives an unusual strength for our circumstances. He makes my feet like hinds’ feet And sets me upon my high places. He trains my hands for battle So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. Psalm 18:34

Continuously relying on God

Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrew 12:2 Usually, there’s an action expected from our part in order to secure our breakthrough. For instance, while leading the Israelites into Canaan land, Moses was given different instructions for the different challenges he faced. In the same way, God gives us different strategies for our different challenges. It is only as we continuously fix our attention on Jesus (the Word) and not the problem that we receive instruction and the right mindset to secure our breakthroughs.

We are what we see

Remember God’s ultimate goal for us in any challenge is that we develop a stronger faith muscle (James 1:3). With that in mind, what we see and what we say becomes our winning ticket to reigning in this life. The natural man speaks only what He sees physically (feelings, reasons, facts), the spiritual man speaks what God sees (the perfect state of a thing). It is the spiritual man that reigns in this life because the physical life is limited in scope and sight. I remember a time when I almost quit my master’s program out of family exhaustion. God’s Word ‘’ I give power to the weak and strength to those who have no might’’ came alive in me. God gave me a mental picture in a dream. Focusing on that positive picture, I got the strength to do the hard work that was necessary for my thesis. As a result, I successfully completed my studies with very good grades.

The spiritual life controls the physical

The physical life we see is only a shadow cast by the supernatural one (the Spiritual). When you move an object, the shadow cast by the object moves alongside, in the same way, to reign in this life _our careers, in academics, in marriage, in business, we have to control things from the real source _ the spiritual realm.
We activate the supernatural life by our profession of faith_ by seeing, saying, and taking steps that align with the word of God for that situation.

We reign by our faith proclamation. The physical man speaks only what he sees, the spiritual man speaks what the word saysClick To Tweet For instance, one time I had a couple of dreams that my dad was going to die. I and my sisters prayed and fasted about it. About 2 months later, however, a ‘’prophet’’ thousand of miles away reiterated the same message to one of my relatives. He said my dad was going to die in a week’s time. My sisters were terrified and began to panic.  Under so much pressure from my siblings to carry out an instruction from the ‘’prophet’’ that didn’t sit well with me, I intensified my search for God by fasting and study of the word. I  cried to the Lord for Mercy. I reminded God of His words in Psalm 50:15 that says ‘’ call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honour me”. I reminded Him of Psalm 102:13  ‘’ You will arise and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show favour to her; the appointed time has come’’. I also recalled the story of Hezekiah in II Kings 20:1-11. How he overturned a death verdict and added more years to King Hezekiah. I travailed and pleaded for mercy for my father. And God heard.  It’s been over a year now, my dad is well and strong. Hallelujah! This jacked up My faith in God only to say the least.   No matter the situation, God’s word is a sure remedy for any challenge I’d encourage you, don’t merely live life on your own strength. Just as a plant by the waterside never wilts, so a person who continuously feeds on the Word of God reigns over the challenges in life. He’ll always have the upper hand in any challenge he faces.
We are products of the word and our lives are a result of our wordsClick To Tweet Jesus is the word of God John 1:14,  through Him we receive overflowing grace and it is only in Him that we reign in this Life Hallelujah!
