How do we keep a good attitude in the midst of chaos, uncertainty and all the mess around us?
An interesting thing that happened to one of my friends 3 years ago. My friend was looking for a job and had been attending an orientation class that helps new immigrants properly integrate into the society. On one fateful day, he was so concerned about his job situation that he prayed vehemently that God does a miracle for him.
In class later that day, in an informal discussion with some of his peers. Someone commented that it seems like it’s going to take them a while to get a job. My friend immediately said, no that will not be the case for him. He said he would get a job very soon. Immediately he’d finished speaking, his phone rang as if the caller was waiting for him. And guess what? It was an employer who was calling to ask about his availability for work.
What were the odds that that was a coincidence?
A scripture that comes to mind here is Titus 1:15. It says
“To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure”.
A pure heart thinks the thoughts of God. He sees God working behind the scenes and therefore acts as such.
A corrupt mind does not perceive God in or around Him. He says only what he can physically see. Here is a story where this played out.
It’s what we perceive in our challenges that gives us the determination to hold on. Our perception determines whether we’ll work harder, study harder, pray more, belief in spite of, go the extra mile or quit.
It doesn’t matter what’s happening around you, if you are a child of God, God is actively working in your life. Never believe the devil’s lies. Don’t let your heart be corrupted.
“The eternal God is your refuge and His everlasting arms are under you…” Deuteronomy 33:27
Pause and think about it, God’s everlasting arms are under me and you.
This is the mindset that if we take on helps us go through whatever besets us with a good attitude.
Here is a verse of scripture I love to pray with when I’m at my wit’s end.
God is our refuge and strength,
Always ready to help in times of trouble.
So, we will not fear when earthquakes come
And the mountains crumble into the sea.
Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!
There’s a river whose stream makes glad the city of our God…
God is in the midst of her; it cannot be destroyed. Psalm 46:1-5
Be encouraged today. Set your eyes on God and you will perceive order in the midst of chaos.

How do you keep a good attitude in the midst of chaos?
What do you see when you look around? What do you see in your colleagues? What do you see in yourself? What do you see in your marriage? What do you see in your situations? Do you see the beautiful snowflakes, or do you see the piles of snow to shovel? Do you see annoying and irritating people, or do you see people who need help? Do you see someone who is hard and difficult to get along with or do you see someone who has had a rough past? Do you see your difficult husband or do you see a potential man of valor Do you see a talkative or do you see someone who could speak up for others? Do you see the drug addict a nuisance, or do you see a life in need of true freedom? What do you see in your circumstances? Do you see God working in you despite your weaknesses? Do you see yourself becoming like Christ? Do you see God helping you do what you‘re supposed to do? Do you see your difficult situation turning around very soon? Our attitudes are like magnets. They are forces that pull certain outcomes towards us because of the way we perceive thingsClick To Tweet
Do everything without grumbling and complaining
God is indeed great. Having a positive attitude and our confession in every situation goes along way. I am encouraged to confess his word always.
Yes, don’t give up. Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.Heb 10:23. God bless you.
